1. Start by cleaning the threads of the head bolts and the bolt holes in the engine block. Use a thread cleaning tool or a wire brush to remove any dirt or debris.

3. Begin torquing the head bolts following the specified sequence mentioned above. Use a torque wrench set to the appropriate torque specification (in ft. lbs. or Nm) for each bolt.

4. For bolts numbered 1 to 10, torque them to 30 ft. lbs. (41 Nm) initially.

5. Once all the bolts from 1 to 10 have been torqued to the initial specification, go back and torque them again to 90 ft. lbs. (122 Nm) in the same sequence.

6. Finally, torque bolts 11 and 12 to 90 ft. lbs. (122 Nm) using the same sequence.

7. After torquing all the head bolts, it is recommended to perform an additional 90-degree rotation on each bolt in the same sequence. This ensures that the bolts are properly tightened and helps prevent any potential issues.
